Available for Free on March 21, 2010 only: Clone2Go Video Converter Professional.
If you missed the offering on Give Away of the Day you can find this software on the Clone2Go website, they do have a trial.
This software looks quite promising, especially if you have a Camcorder as it supports DV input. I haven’t been able to personally test this with a camcorder, but if you have one, it is worth a shot – especially TODAY!
I did try using the conversion tool. It successfully converted several videos from my Android Phone in no time, and did just as well as any other tool I’ve used.
I also gave the “YouTube” button a shot, it successfully grabbed a video from YouTube, Google Video, MetaCafe and even CNN. I suspect this would do well at downloading videos from most sites. It also converts them on the fly, which is nice (but a common feature among video downloaders.)
Ashraf has given it a thumbs-down in his Review of Clone2Go on DotTech.org, mainly because of some bugs he found, but I didn’t encounter the same issues (though I did not test it to the extent that he did, I just didn’t have issues doing stuff I would normally do.)
If you’re looking to pull stuff off of your Camcorder, I do believe this could be a valuable tool. Would love to hear the opinion of others!
